The new leader of Boston Borough Council has appointed a new cabinet. Cllr Paul Skinner has increased the number on the cabinet from seven to eight.
Aaron Spencer (was Leader of the Council) and Alistair Arundell (was Cabinet Member for Tourism, Arts and Culture) both stood down from the cabinet earlier in the year. Chelcei Sharman also leaves her portfolio for the Town Centre.
The new cabinet is:
Leader of the Council – Paul Skinner (was Regulatory Services)
Deputy Leader and Economic Development and Planning – Nigel Welton (was Finance)
Town Centre – Tracey Abbott (new appointment)
Heritage – Richard Austin (new appointment)
Tourism, Arts and Culture – David Brown (new appointment, previously Environment 2018-2019)
Housing and Communities – Martin Griggs (continues in post)
Finance and Commercial – Jonathon Noble (new appointment)
Environmental Services – Yvonne Stevens (continues in post)
The Cabinet’s political representation is:
Conservative – David Brown, Martin Griggs, Jonathon Noble, Paul Skinner, Yvonne Stevens, Nigel Welton
Independent – Tracey Abbott, Richard Austin
The Cabinet’s geographical representation is:
Fishtoft – Jonathon Noble, Paul Skinner
Kirton and Frampton – David Brown, Nigel Welton
Trinity – Martin Griggs, Yvonne Stevens
Wyberton – Tracey Abbott, Richard Austin
The cabinet is mainly represented by members from the more rural wards of Fishtoft, Kirton and Frampton, and Wyberton. Two members represent part of Boston itself, serving as councillors for the Trinity ward.
