Top Two Resign in Maldon

The Leader and Deputy Leader of Maldon District Council have resigned following allegations of misconduct. The Leader of the Council, Adrian Fluker, has been accused of making a cut throat gesture to two other councillors during a meeting. An independent report has been published on the Leader’s conduct and the process of a subsequent standards committee investigation. In addition to Cllr Fluker, the Deputy Leader has also resigned from her post. Cllr Maddie Thompson had previously said she would stand down at the same time as her boss. A meeting will now be held to choose their successors.
