The Mayor of Hackney has appointed Guy Nicholson as Interim Deputy Mayor while Rebecca Rennison takes maternity leave. Councillor Nicholson represents Homerton for Labour and has been Cabinet Member for Planning since 2016, having served on the cabinet since 2008.
Robert Chapman, who represents Homerton alongside Guy Nicholson, has joined the top team as Cabinet Member for Finance, Housing Needs and Supply. He will cover Rebecca Rennison’s maternity leave.
Jon Burke has resigned from the cabinet. His role as Cabinet Member for Energy, Waste, Transport and Public Realm has been taken by Mete Coban. Councillor Coban has represented the Stoke Newington area since 2014.
